Kao Kao skin gets red after bath, why?

Kao Kao has been getting red patches on her belly and inner legs after every bath lately. She is scratching a lot too. I use the dog shampoo from the pet shop by the 7-Eleven, before that she was fine. Maybe the water in Phuket is too hard? Or something else? Her skin looks dry in the wrinkles.

Red belly and inner legs after baths is very common with pugs and allergies. Could be the shampoo or even hot water. I would take her to a vet for a skin check, they can do tests and give medicine if needed. Don't feel bad, it happens!

Did you rinse all the shampoo off? Leftover shampoo can make itching too. Also the water in Phuket is hard I think, so rinse extra.

Could be the shampoo. Try a gentle one without perfume and dry her really well after the bath. Pugs get skin problems easily, so check the wrinkles too, dirt and damp can cause redness there.

Yes ours got itchy after bath with cheap shampoo, we stopped and went with the oatmeal one from the vet. If it still itches, ask the vet, maybe allergy.
