We are moving into a house with a small yard in Bang Phli next month. Bua is a dog and Goku is my tortoise. I am definately worried about the pool and the gate, Bua keeps digging under the fence. Any tips for setting up a yard in this heat? Is it ok for Goku to be outside when its raining?

Tortoise: shade, water dish, hide box, enough space to walk. Rain is ok but keep him dry after and watch for ants. For Bua digging, bury chicken wire along the fence line a few inches down, that stops most dogs. Also keep the pool covered when no one is watching, its very dangerous for dogs and small animals.
Tortoise need outside but shade is must. Build enclosure with wall about 30cm, not too high so he can climb out easy. Bua dig, so put tiles or concrete strip at the edge of fence to stop digging. Pool, dog can swim but must teach him to get out first.
Tortoises can be outside in the rain, it's fine, just check there's no standing water. For digging, give her a sandbox area of her own, she will usually stop digging the garden. For the pool, fence with a self-closing gate.
