I need to take my friend's cat to Koh Samui by ferry for about a week, because she is going into hospital. Is it possible to bring a cat on the ferry from Surat Thani? What do I need for her? I have never travelled with a cat before, so I don't know what to prepare.

Yes ferry is possible for cats but she needs a carrier. Most cats are ok but some get seasick. Put a towel with her scent inside, give small food 3 hours before, and keep the carrier on your lap, not under the seat. Bring a litter tray and pee pads. Call the ferry company first to ask about pet rules.
Dogs can go on the ferry but cats must stay in cage. Need vaccine paper, rabies certificate, make sure you bring it with you when you board. Cat might be shy, cover the cage with cloth so she calm. Bring plenty of water and wet food, no need big food.
