My Leo is 3 year old and he pull so much on walk, i hurt my shoulder last week. I tried a harness but he still pull. We walk in the soi every evening and so many street dogs barking. Is there a trick for this or do I need a trainer?
Try the U-turn method. When he pulls, turn around and walk the other way, reward him when he catches up. It works well in the soi with barking dogs because he learns to watch you instead of the other dogs. Takes a few weeks of daily practice. Use a hands-free leash so your shoulder rests.
Leash pulling, you have to stop walking when he pull. Stand still until he comes back to you. Start in the house first, then quiet soi. Reward when the leash is loose. Many people give up too early but it works in 2-3 weeks. Front clip harness helps too.
my dog also pull so bad. i use a treat and walk backward so he has to look at me. Also dont walk in the morning when street dogs are out, bad idea for leash reactive dog.
