Taking Fon by bus from Surat Thani to Bangkok, any safe way?

We drive Fon to Bangkok every few months by bus because flying is too expensive for us. He is 8 years old and small, and he gets sick in the bus. Last time he cried the whole way and threw up twice. Is there a better way, or medicine that is safe for him?

   Bus is hard for small dog, maybe use carrier under the seat or carry him on lap. Ask vet about anti nausea medicine, dont give human pills without asking. Fon is 8 years so vet check first, before the trip. My Frenchie gets carsick too so i feel for him.
