cat meets dogs

My sister's cat Miso came to stay for a week while she was in Bangkok. We put her in the back room first. Ping, our 2-year-old Shih Tzu, did not stop barking at the door for a whole day, so the first meeting was not great.

What worked: keep the cat high, on a shelf or the top of the sofa, so the dogs cannot reach her, and let them sniff from behind a baby gate. Bacon, the younger one, just wanted to play with everybody and got slapped on the nose by the cat once, which was actually useful for him.

By day three they were sleeping in different corners of the same room. Good enough.
