Jupiter is officially fat

Took Jupiter to the vet for her annual check and she is 5.9 kg. For a 3 year old mixed cat that is way too much. The vet basically told me I am the reason, which, fair.

The problem is I have been giving her the crunchy stuff from the big bag because it is cheaper and she never leaves it. Plus a bit of tuna from the Shopee order, plus whatever the kids on our floor feed her on the stairs.

So new plan. Wet food twice a day, measured, same bowl same time. Dry food goes in a puzzle feeder so she has to work for it. Vet says aim for 4.5 kg in about 4 months, no crash diets.

Week one she was furious. Cried at 5am every day like I forgot her. Week two she still cries but less. I have stopped giving in, mostly.

Mostly I just feel guilty every time she sits by the empty bowl and looks at me like I have abandoned her in a war zone.
