Mickey got a small lump on his leg last year. The vet in Ari said it is probably a fatty lump, not serious, but the vet wanted to check it under anesthesia to be sure. The bill came to about 9,000 baht for the procedure and the tests. I was not happy about paying that but I had the insurance from my friend's recommendation.

I have been paying 650 baht a month for the basic plan for 2 years. I had never claimed before, so I was thinking, I wasted money? Then the claim came through in 10 days after I sent the papers online. They paid around 70 percent after the deductible. It was not as much as I hoped but it helped.

Tips for other people: read the exclusion list before you sign. Pre-existing conditions are not covered, so buy it while your dog is still young and healthy. And keep every receipt, even the small ones.
