salmon first grooming, we survived

We did it. Salmon had his first proper grooming last Saturday at a place in Si Racha near the market, the lady there was very patient with him. He is one year old now and his coat was getting very matted behind the ears, I was scared to try it myself after the bad haircut I gave him last year.

He was ok at the start, he sat on the table and let them wash him. Then the hairdryer came out and he went under the table like a little cat. Took them 40 minutes to get him back up. The lady gave him a biscuit and then he behaved perfectly for the nails.

After the bath he looks like a totally different dog. Lighter, softer, very proud. He keeps smelling himself and then sneezing. I think he likes the new smell but he will not admit it.

We also got some advice from the lady, she said brush him every 2 days at home, not only once a week like I was doing. So now I have a brush in every room, which is maybe too much but my husband says it's fine. The bathroom is a bit of a mess because of the hair.

The bill was not cheap, around 1,200 baht, but Salmon is worth it. We are going back in 6 weeks for the next trim. Any tips for dogs who hate the dryer? He is not aggressive, just scared, and I feel bad for him.
