somtam vs totoro vs butter

Three pets in one small condo in Nonthaburi and I am going crazy. Somtam is the cat (4 years, male, very lazy), Totoro is the hamster, and Butter is the rabbit. Nobody asked me if they can be friends. I just buy them one by one because I cannot say no to the pet shop lady.

For the first month Somtam kept sitting next to Totoro's cage and staring at him like a TV show. Totoro was so scared he did not come out of his wood house for 3 days. I was worried he would die of stress. I moved the cage to the top shelf and put the cat tower near it. It helped a little, Somtam got bored and left.

Butter is the funny one. She thinks she is the boss. When the cat walked near her pen she stomped her back foot really loud and the cat just ran away. Now Somtam is scared of the rabbit more than I expected. I laugh every time.

Today is the best day so far. Totoro came out of his house while Somtam was sleeping on the sofa, and they were only 1 meter apart. Nobody attacked. Totoro just ran on his wheel and the cat looked at him, sleepy, and then closed his eyes. I cried a little, kind of silly.

I still don't let them play together. They are not close, but at least they live in the same room without drama. Maybe that is enough for now. Somtam is still trying to steal the hamster wheel though.
