I'm curious how you kept the dogs and cats apart at mealtimes, since our two dogs like to chase the cats around the bowls. Did you use separate rooms or baby gates? Also, did Dum adjust quickly or did it take a few weeks? Thanks for such a detailed story.

Honestly that's classic cat logic, Dum is the boss and the full bowl is never the right bowl. Sitting calmly while the dogs fight over snacks and then rushing to breakfast anyway is peak drama. Nine years old and still stealing the spotlight, I love him.

If one of them always rushes the bowl, try feeding the others first and then putting Dum's food somewhere a bit higher or on a mat with a timer. Some cats settle down quickly once they know food comes on a set schedule.

How did you get Dum to stop jumping into the dogs' food bowls? Did you feed them in separate rooms or just time the meals differently?
