น้องโอลีฟวัยเจ็ดขวบ ยังชอบทำตัวเป็นลูกหมา
น้องโอลีฟ ไทยหลังอาน ตัวเมีย อายุเจ็ดขวบกว่าแล้ว ที่บ้านบนเกาะสมุย เราเริ่มสังเกตว่าเธอเดินขึ้นบันไดช้าลง ยิ่งพอถึงหน้าร้อนก็นอนหอบมากกว่าเดิม ทำให้เราเริ่มปรับบ้านให้เหมาะกับคนแก่ขึ้นทีละนิด
เริ่มจากการวางเบาะนอนที่นุ่มขึ้นไว้ใกล้หน้าต่างแอร์ แล้วก็วางชามน้ำไว้หลายจุด กลัวเธอขี้เกียจเดินไปดื่ม ส่วนเรื่องอาหาร หมอแนะนำให้เปลี่ยนเป็นสูตรที่ย่อยง่ายขึ้น ซึ่งเธอก็กินหมดชามทุกมื้อ เหมือนไม่รู้ตัวเลยว่าเป็นอาหารแก่
แต่คนที่ไม่ยอมแก่สักทีคือตัวโอลีฟเอง พอเราหยิบลูกเทนนิสมาโยน เธอยังวิ่งไปคาบกลับมาหาเราด้วยหางที่ส่ายไม่หยุด เหมือนสมัยเป็นลูกหมาตัวเล็กๆ
เรารู้สึกว่าอายุไม่ใช่ปัญหาใหญ่ ถ้าเรายังอยู่เคียงข้างกันแบบนี้ ก็ขอให้น้องโอลีฟอยู่กับเราไปนานๆ นะ

A low step stool near the sofa helped our older dog a lot, and a cooling mat by the aircon is worth it in Bangkok heat. Olive is getting good care.

Olive still thinks she's a puppy, which is honestly the best part. Cookie would like a word about the cushion by the window though.

Try putting her food bowl close to where she sleeps so she doesn't have to walk far for meals. A soft mat near the bowl helps too if her joints are sore.

เบาะที่วางหน้าต่างแอร์ทำจากอะไรครับ แล้วมีทางลาดสำหรับขึ้นบันไดด้วยไหม ที่บ้านผมก็มีน้องที่เดินขึ้นลงลำบากขึ้นเหมือนกัน
