a year on

Honey passed in March, she was 14. People kept saying get another dog straight away. We did not. We waited until this year and got Marshmallow, who is 8.3 years old and came from a shelter outside the city. He is a lovely old boy but he is not Honey, and I do not expect him to be.

Sometimes I still call the wrong name at the door. My wife says it is fine. I keep Honey's brush in the bedroom drawer. I used to think that was silly. Not anymore.
