kiki got neutered today, long post sorry

I was so scared this morning. Kiki is 6 years old and we finally decided to do the sterilisation. My mom said it is better for him, less marking and less problem with the other dogs in the soi, so we booked a vet clinic near Sai Mai for 8 am. The vet said it is a simple surgery and he will go home same day.

We need to fast him from midnight. He does not understand why he cannot eat, he kept looking at me with the sad face and sitting by the fridge. I felt bad but the vet said it is important, no food after 10 pm.

At the clinic they took him in the back room and i waited with the other owners. There was a golden retriever who got a big cut from a motorbike, the owner was crying. I was thinking about Kiki the whole time.

After 2 hours the vet came out and said everything went good, he is awake but still sleepy. He has a cone on his neck, the plastic one that look like lamp shade. They gave us pain medicine for 3 days and antibiotic. Dont let him lick the stitches, the vet said.

At home he walk into the wall 2 times because of the cone lol. Now he is sleeping on the bed with the cone, very sad. I put his favorite blanket under his head. Tonight he has to wear the cone all night, which is hard for both of us i think.

The vet said he need to rest for 10 days, no running, no jumping on the sofa, no bath. My mom is happy because she dont have to clean up the poop in the house anymore haha. Tomorrow i will check the stitches again. If the wound look red or he start to vomit i call the vet immediately.

Honestly I think he will be okay, he is a strong boy. Just tired now.

Kiki says thank you for the chicken i gave him after, he eat all of it.
