one year since mimi, and now espresso

Mimi was my dog for 14 years, she died in February after a long time with heart problem. I did not want to write about it, but my friend say it help to talk.

I got Mimi in Lyon when I was a student. Then she come with me to Bangkok when I got the job at the school in Ari. She hate the heat at the start, she only lie on the tile floor with her belly. Then she learn to like the morning walk by the canal, the ladies there give her name Nam Nam because she always wanting to drink from the water bottle.

Now Espresso is here. He is a three year old mix from the shelter in Pathum Thani and he is very energy, very dumb, very loving. He run to the door every time someone come, even if it is only the delivery boy. I think he is trying to be a good boy but he forget.

Sometimes I walk him in the morning and I still look for Mimi on the left side, where she always walk. Espresso walks on the right. It makes me sad but also I laugh because he always pull to the tree where Mimi used to pee. I tell him no, she is not there anymore. He doesnt care.

The apartment is very quiet at night without her breathing. I miss the sound of her nails on the floor. My husband say it is normal, I know it is normal. Still, I cry in the shower sometimes.
