  We are going to try this slow approach with Zeus, who still hides under the bed whenever the vacuum comes out. Sitting on the floor and offering a treat in an open palm sounds much calmer than what we have been doing. Thank you for the detail about the quiet room, which matters a lot for a shy animal.
