scary 40 min last sunday

Sorbet got out of the gate when the delivery guy opened the lobby door. I did not even see her go. My wife was in the bath and I was reading the paper in the living room, so nobody notice for almost 10 minutes.

I went down to the lobby and asked the guard. He said he saw a grey dog running toward the soi behind the building. I ran around the soi calling her name. She always come when I say 'Sorbet, chalo', but there was many street dogs and motorbikes, I was very worried.

After 25 minutes I found her near the 7-Eleven at the corner. She was sitting next to a food stall eating something from the ground. A nice auntie who sell som tam there said she was waiting for me, the dog was very calm and nobody bothered her. I gave the auntie a bag of biscuits from my pocket as thanks.

When I got home I checked her collar, the tag was loose. I bought new collar that same day and also got the microchip checked, the vet said it's fine. Next to the door I put a small gate now so she cannot run out.

Advice from me: put a photo of your dog on your phone lock screen, and if your dog is old, make sure they have a tag with your phone number. I did not have it before and I feel very stupid about it.

Sorbet is 6 now, she is not fast anymore, but she still very quick to the door.
