training update: sit and stay (finally)

Yaya learned sit in two weeks. I use chicken treats and a clicker, bought in Phuket Town. She is 1.4 years old and very smart but also very stubborn. When she wants something she does not listen at all.

Stay is the hard part. I can make her stay 5 seconds in the house, then she sees a gecko on the wall and runs away. The neighbour dog next door barks every morning and it makes her crazy. I think she wants to join them.

My wife says I am too strict. Maybe she is right. I give the command only one time now, not three times like before. Yaya listens much better when I do it like this.

We go to the beach at Nai Harn every evening for a 15 minute walk. She stays on the leash there because of other dogs and some people do not like dogs. Okay.

Next goal is come when called in the open area. I think it will take months. Today she came just 3 steps and then she sniffed the grass and forgot everything.
