Description

Cat in the Box Homestay (แคท อิน เดอะ บ็อกซ์ โฮมสเตย์) is a small, no-frills guesthouse in a house setting with only two or three rooms. It has a cat theme, friendly resident cats and a small cat café space next door, and is popular with backpackers and budget travellers.

Rooms are simple and air-conditioned, with a double or king-size bed and a work desk. Bathrooms with hot showers are shared, and there is free Wi-Fi and a shaded garden patio.

The homestay is largely self-service, without a full hotel front desk. Check-in usually takes place during set daytime hours, typically 1 pm to 6 pm, so agree your arrival time in advance. Drinks are available at the adjoining café.

Neighbourhood

The homestay is in a calm, older residential community in Thonburi. Several 7-Eleven stores, street food stalls and vegan eateries are within easy walking distance.

Getting there

The homestay is at 106 Soi Krung Thon Buri 4, off Krung Thon Buri Road, Bang Lamphu Lang, Khlong San, Bangkok.

By BTS, take the Silom Line to Wongwian Yai or Krung Thonburi. From BTS Wongwian Yai it is an easy 5–7-minute walk into the soi.

From Don Mueang Airport it is about 31 km, roughly 40–50 minutes by taxi via the tollway. From Suvarnabhumi Airport it is about 28 km, roughly 45–60 minutes by taxi, or take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai and change to the BTS.

Car parking is very limited in the narrow soi and driving is not recommended; ask in advance if you need a space. Bicycles and scooters can be parked on site.
