Description

Kyoto Great Hotel opened in 2019 and was renovated in 2020. It is a three-star boutique hotel in a minimalist Japanese style with clean lines, light wood and garden views. The exterior signage may still read Four O'clock Hotel.

The 31 air-conditioned, soundproofed rooms include Studio King and twin layouts. Each has a 40-inch smart TV with Netflix, a free minibar, a safe, a work desk, free bottled water, a rain shower and a hair dryer. Ground-floor rooms step out to the courtyard pool.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a children's pool, a coffee shop, a terrace, a garden, a 24-hour front desk, free fast Wi-Fi, self-service laundry, free on-site parking and an EV charging point. The building has stairs only and no lift, so guests with heavy luggage can ask for a lower floor.

Neighbourhood

The hotel is in a quiet alley behind Chiang Mai University, a lively student area with cheap local eateries, cafes, several 7-Eleven stores and a 24-hour coin laundry across the street.

Getting there

The address is 91/3 Moo 14, Wat Pa Daeng Road, Soi 6, Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai. From Chiang Mai International Airport it is about 4 km, 15–20 minutes by taxi, Grab, Bolt or songthaew heading west towards Suthep Road and Chiang Mai University, then turning into Wat Pa Daeng Road and Soi 6.

From the Old City (Tha Phae Gate) it is about 3.5–5 km, 10–15 minutes by car. Drive west along Suthep Road past Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital and the university, then turn south into the alley towards Wat Pa Daeng. From Chiang Mai Railway Station allow 20–25 minutes by road. Free on-site parking is available but can be limited at busy times.
