Dogs and cats are both welcome, and the resort has its own friendly small dogs, rabbits and birds on the grounds. Small pets are preferred, with a guideline of under 10 kg.

Several pets can be accommodated depending on the cabin size (up to 6 in large family units), with advance notice.

Pets may stay inside the cabins. Bring your own pet bed or blankets, do not let pets sleep on the hotel bedding, and clean up after them. Pets can explore the gardens, nature paths and the stream, but must be on a leash in the dining and common areas, out of respect for other guests and the resident animals.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff.

Tharnthong Lodges (ธารทองลอดจ์) is a nature retreat, restaurant and café built around a cool mountain stream that flows right through the property. Lush greenery and the sound of the water set the tone, and the lodge is well regarded by pet owners.

Accommodation is in rustic wooden and stone cabins, private chalets and family villas such as Baan Hin Ngam, many with terraces overlooking the stream, stone gardens and the forest canopy. Construction uses natural materials that fit the valley setting.

The front of the property runs as a public restaurant and café with open-air seating by the stream, serving Northern Thai dishes, drinks and snacks.

The lodge is surrounded by highland forest and quiet riverbanks, with cool mountain air all year. It is a rural area with villages and nature attractions along the road to Mae Kampong.

The lodge is at 99/1-3 Moo 8, Huai Kaeo, Mae On District, Chiang Mai, about 40–48 km east of Chiang Mai city and the airport, roughly 45–60 minutes by car.

From the city, take Mahidol Road and join Highway 1317 (the new San Kamphaeng road), then continue straight towards Mae On and Mae Kampong. The lodge is on the left in Huai Kaeo, about 4.5–5 km before Mae Kampong Village. Free parking is available on site.
