Ku Ha Khae Cafe & Farm is a sheep farm and mountain-view café above Mae Suai Dam, Chiang Rai. Leashed dogs are welcome indoors, on the lawns and in the garden.

Leashed dogs are allowed inside the café building, as well as on the open grass lawn, garden grounds and shaded pavilions. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and stay close around the grazing sheep. There is no separate pet fee and no pet menu. The farm keeps a resident flock of sheep and small farm animals.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff. Check with the management regarding any size or breed restrictions.

Description

Ku Ha Khae Cafe & Farm combines a working sheep farm with a scenic coffee shop on a ridge above Mae Suai Dam. Visitors can watch the flock graze across the green lawn and buy feed trays to feed the sheep.

The café serves locally brewed northern Thai coffee, tea, iced drinks, fruit sodas, light snacks and baked goods. Pavilions across the grounds give shaded seats for watching the mountains and the morning mist. Weekends tend to be busier than weekday mornings.

Getting there

The farm is on the mountain road that climbs toward Doi Chang and Wa Wi from Route 118 in Mae Suai district, about 3 to 4 km past the Mae Suai Dam viewpoint.

Chiang Rai has no BTS or MRT, so visitors come by private car, motorbike or chartered taxi or songthaew. A dedicated parking lot is directly in front of the farm.
