Dogs and cats are allowed free of charge when requested in advance. There is no pet fee or pet deposit, and no weight limit; dogs of any size are accepted.

Pets stay in designated units only, mainly the individual cottages and bungalows, and up to two pets per room are possible. The landscaped gardens, grassy riverfront and walking paths are suitable for walking leashed pets.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff.

Baantawan Guesthouse (บ้านตะวัน เกสต์เฮาส์) is a boutique lodge built in 2003 on the bank of the Pai River, with about 23 rooms and detached wooden bungalows set in tropical gardens.

Rooms have Northern Thai woodwork, parquet floors, air conditioning, private balconies or terraces and refrigerators, with views over the garden, the mountains or the river.

The guesthouse has a restaurant serving breakfast and à la carte dishes, shared kitchen and grill facilities, a tour desk, bicycle and car rental, massage and free Wi-Fi.

The guesthouse is on Rural Road, Pai, about 450–600 m from the bus terminal and town centre, a 5–10 minute walk or a short motorbike or songthaew ride.

From Pai Airport it is about 2–3 km, roughly 5–10 minutes by taxi or hotel shuttle. From Chiang Mai, take Route 1095 by minivan from the Arcade Bus Station or by car, about 3–4 hours, then head towards the riverside in Wiang Tai. Free on-site parking is available for cars and scooters.
