Dogs and cats are welcome free of charge, with no daily pet fee. A refundable damage or incidental deposit of around THB 1,000–2,000 may be requested at check-in.

Small and medium pets are accepted, with dogs up to roughly 20 kg; larger breeds may be allowed with prior approval from the management. Usually up to two pets per room are allowed if you tell the resort in advance. Pets stay in designated rooms.

Pets may use the open communal areas and garden paths on a leash, but they are not allowed in the swimming pool, on sun loungers or on dining tables and chairs. Owners must always clean up after their pets. The public beach across the road is quiet and good for walks along the shore.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff.

Description

Kalamona Seaview Resort (คาลามอนา ซีวิว รีสอร์ท) is a small boutique resort facing the Gulf of Thailand, with limestone mountains behind it. It is low-key and peaceful, popular with couples, families and dog and cat owners looking for a slow-paced break.

There are about 10 air-conditioned rooms in Standard, Deluxe, Seaview, Premier and Family categories. Rooms have a private bathroom with rain shower, a fridge, a kettle and a TV.

The resort has an outdoor pool overlooking the garden, a casual dining area serving breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Guests can borrow bicycles and kayaks free of charge.

Neighbourhood

The resort is in a quiet coastal area of limestone mountains, small fishing villages, casual seafood restaurants and uncrowded beaches, with the beach just across the road.

Sam Roi Yot Beach and Dolphin Bay (across the road): a long, quiet sandy beach.
Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park (2–10 minutes by car): limestone hills, wetlands and viewpoints.
Khao Kalok and Thao Kosa Forest Park (about 5 km): a headland and forest park to the north.
Phraya Nakhon Cave (about 10 km): a cave with a historic royal pavilion lit by sunlight through a collapsed roof.

Getting there

The resort is at 85 Moo 1, Sam Roi Yot, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on the coastal road across from the beach.

By car, which is the easiest option, take Highway 35 (Rama II Road) or Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road) south from Bangkok past Phetchaburi and Hua Hin towards Pran Buri. Turn off Phetkasem Road onto Rural Road 1020 towards Sam Roi Yot Beach and follow the coastal road to the resort. The drive from Bangkok takes about 3–3.5 hours. Free parking is available on site.

By public transport, take a train, van or bus from Bangkok to Pran Buri or Hua Hin. From Pran Buri, a local taxi or songthaew to Sam Roi Yot Beach takes about 25–35 minutes.
