Description
Khun Si Waterfall sits about 200 metres up in the hills between Maenam and Bophut, below Khun Si Viewpoint. A short, steep path, roughly half a kilometre out and back with 35–40 metres of climbing, leads through durian trees over terraced rock to a series of cascades and a boulder-ringed pool. Flow follows the rain: strongest from October to December, often a trickle from April to July.
With a dog, the walk is short but the rock is uneven and slippery, so go slowly and keep the lead on. Trees shade the path and the pool makes a good cool-off when there is water; bring drinking water, as there are no stalls at the fall. Unleashed farm dogs have been reported on the approach roads, so keep yours close on the way in.
Good to know: entry is free, though bars near the viewpoint may charge about 50 THB to park. Wear shoes with grip and go early to have the path to yourself.
