Description
Wang Sai Waterfall sits in a small private park near Mae Haad in north-west Koh Phangan. From the gate an easy, signposted 800 m trail (10 to 15 minutes) follows the river past a pond to cascades, rock pools and a landscaped pool that holds water outside the rains. There's also a zipline. The falls run fullest from about May to October and can dry to a trickle by March and April.
The walk in is short, which suits most dogs, but the rocks around the pools get slippery, especially after rain, so keep the lead short near the water. Water-loving dogs can cool off in the pools when there's flow. Bring mosquito spray and drinking water. It's rarely crowded, which helps nervous dogs.
Good to know: entry is 50 THB per adult and 20 THB per child, cash or Thai bank transfer, and parking by the gate is free. Listed hours vary, from 6:00 or 9:30 to 18:00 daily.
