- Entry & fees: Two View maintains the trail and charges about 100 THB including a drink.
Description
West Coast Viewpoint is a flat granite slab in the middle of Koh Tao, reached by squeezing between two large leaning boulders above Two View. From the top you look down on Sairee Beach, with Koh Nang Yuan to the north and Mae Haad and Jansom Bay to the south. From Two View it is a 15–20 minute signed walk, mostly level with a few climbs. It faces west, so come for sunset.
Dogs are allowed on a lead, and Two View has its own resident dog and cats. The path has steps, wooden rails and fixed ropes in places, the dirt is dusty and slippery, and there are no shops, so carry water. The rock has no railing, and a visitor reported falling where a treetop hides a sheer drop of about 10 metres, so keep a short lead and stay well back.
Good to know: Two View maintains the trail and charges about 100 THB including a drink; the hike from north Sairee is described as free. Listed hours are 06:00–18:00.
Getting there
The easiest way is by scooter via the Love Koh Tao access road, following the dirt track past the reservoir to Two View, where you park; a taxi to Two View costs about 400–500 baht. You can also ride up the steep road beside Monsoon gym in Sairee and walk just over 1 km, or hike about 20 minutes uphill from north Sairee via the Hin Wong road beside Tarna Align Resort.
