เชดดาร์เป็นมิกซ์อายุห้าขวบกว่า นิสัยสงบ ไม่ค่อยชอบเด็กวิ่งกรี๊ด เลยตัดสินใจรับลูกหมาตัวเล็กมาเลี้ยงเพิ่ม ก่อนพาเจอกันจริงหนูให้ลูกหมาอยู่ในกรงในห้องรับแขกสามวัน ให้เชดดาร์เดินผ่านไปมาได้ และเอาของเล่นของแต่ละตัวมาให้ดมกลิ่นกัน จากนั้นค่อยเดินเล่นนอกบ้านด้วยกันโดยมีสายจูง
พอเจอกันครั้งแรก เชดดาร์ทำเป็นนิ่งมาก แต่แอบเลียหัวลูกหมาทีละนิด ตอนนี้สองตัวนอนหนุนกันบนโซฟาแล้วค่ะ

ที่บ้านก็ทำแบบเดียวกันค่ะ ตอนนั้นเราซื้อกรงกั้นเล็กๆ มาวางในห้องรับแขก ทำให้น้องได้เห็นกันโดยไม่ต้องเจอตัวจริงทันที ที่สำคัญคือใช้เวลาเป็นอาทิตย์ อย่าเร่ง ตอนนี้สองตัวนอนด้วยกันแล้วค่ะ

We did almost the same thing with Nungning when we added a second dog, and a simple baby gate in the living room helped a lot. Swapping toys so they could sniff each other's things first was the trick for us too. The slow approach really saved us a lot of stress.

อ่านแล้วอยากลองทำตามเลยครับ บ้านผมมีน้องแมวอยู่ เลยสงสัยว่าจะค่อยๆ ทำได้ไหม ขั้นตอนดมกลิ่นของเล่นก่อนนี่น่าสนใจมาก เดี๋ยวจะค่อยๆ ทำไปทีละนิดแล้วมาเล่าให้ฟังนะครับ

We bought a pet gate and some scent blankets for Honey and her new roommate, and they really helped. Definitely try separate feeding spots first.

This is such a sweet and practical guide. Kitty would definitely need a few days of smelling first too.
