Gold is a chunky corgi who loves chasing every snack cart in the soi. One afternoon I left the gate open for a moment, and she was gone. We searched the lanes all night, checked the lamp posts where we'd hung flyers, and called every clinic nearby. No luck.
The next morning someone posted in our neighbourhood Facebook group that a dog was sleeping outside the laundry shop on the corner. I rushed over, and it was really her. She wasn't hurt, just hungry and covered in dust. Having a checklist ready helped: a recent photo, a phone number, and her vaccine record.
My advice is to put a name tag with a working phone number on the collar, and to get a microchip too. If your pet goes missing, don't stop searching too early. Keep looking until you find them.
Did you post the flyers online too, or only on the lamp posts?

Gold's story made my afternoon. A chunky corgi wandering off is every owner's worst fear, so I'm glad it ended well. Flyers on lamp posts really do work sometimes. Give her a big hug from me 🐶
Tip: put a GPS tag on the collar, we use airtag and it helped alot. Also check the drains near the 7-eleven before you call anyone. Glad Gold came back!

We had a similar scare once, and calling every shelter nearby felt like the longest night ever. So glad Gold came back safe.
