日本語questions to ask vet before surgery
MatteoGold had to be neutered last month and I was so nervous, I asked the vet 20 questions before he agreed.
Things I learned that I wish someone told me before:
Ask what anesthetic they use and who watches him during recovery. Our vet explained the protocol which made me feel better. Zeus had her spay years ago and it was very different, she was much more quiet after.
Ask about fasting. Gold must not eat after midnight, but water is ok until morning. Dont guess this, the timing matter.
Ask for pain relief to go home with, and how many days. Also ask how to give pills, because Gold hides them under the couch every time.
Ask about the e collar. He hated the cone so much he walked into the walls. The vet gave us a soft one that worked much better.
Ask what to watch for. Blood in urine, not peeing, not eating for more than a day. Call straight away, do not wait for the next appointment.
I think the best question was whether the vet has done this procedure many times. Gold recovered fine and now he is back to chasing the ball across the living room. Zeus is still judging him.

Our Pancake had surgery last year, the vet asked the same question about who watches him, really important. Hope recovery is smooth for Gold.

My Porsche had her spay at 6 months and she was sleepy for 2 days, so dont worry if Gold is quiet. Ask the vet about pain meds too.

@Matteo yes ask about the pain medicine too, the vet gave Baby a few days of it and she was so much better.
