Last month we drove from Phuket to Chiang Mai with Lay, 14 hours with two stops. Lay is 4 years old and very big, so the car needed a lot of space. Before that trip I was not prepared, so here is my list for next time.
Water from home in a big bottle. Thai tap water is not good for her stomach, she got diarrhea first day and was fine after we changed to bottled. Also bring her normal food, do not change food on the road, very bad idea.
Mat for the back seat, cheap one from Lazada is fine. Lay sleeps on it all the way. Seatbelt harness is must, I saw a car accident on road near Surat Thani and it was scary.
Towels, many. Also poop bags, more than you think you need. Some gas stations dont have bin, so keep the bag in the car door.
Vet papers. Thai rules for dog travel wit documents, I got health certificate from district vet office. Ask them early because it take time. Keep copies in your phone and print. Nobody checked on the road this time but I was not sure.
Ice box for her water and some treats. Stop every 2 hours for walk, she needed it. Thats it, good trip!

Oscar came to us from a shelter in Nonthaburi last Tuesday. He weighs 3 kg and he is basically a fox with a dog body. First night he did not sleep at all. He walked around the flat, looked u...
