wet vs dry for the soi cats

I started feeding the cats near my building in Chatuchak last year and I had no idea what to give them. The guard said just rice, but the vet my friend goes to says no rice every day. Dry food is easier to keep out in the rain, but the cats drink less water with it. In this heat that is a problem. The wet food I buy in the big pack at Lazada is more expensive but they drink more and the poop is softer, cleaner. I have been mixing both. Maybe a third wet and rest dry, but I am not sure this is correct. My friend says kittens need more wet, adult cats less is ok. Put the bowl in the shade and change the water twice a day. Ants come quick in rainy season so I put the bowl on a tray with water around the legs. Works better than any spray. I will ask the vet again next month when I bring the ones I catch for neuter.
