Lulu not eat dog food, what to do?

Lulu has not eaten his dry food for 2 days. He only eats chicken and rice that I cook for him. He seems fine otherwise, just no interest in food. Vet said maybe teeth? I am worried because he is getting old.

Hello Lalita, my cat was also very picky with dry food when she was old. I think it is good to check his teeth first, and not change the food too fast. Maybe mix a little of the old food with the new one, slowly over one week.

I would see the vet soon if he is eating less than normal for more than a day or two. Not sure about the teeth idea, that is just what the vet said to you? A second opinion might be good if you are not sure.

Lulu is old so maybe the teeth hurt when he chew. ask vet to check the teeth and gum, if bad they can clean. soft food maybe better for now

Maltese can be very picky, try warm the food a bit or add some water to it. Don't give too many treats though, that is why they stop eating the dry food.
