So Cream had her first grooming yesterday and I think i was more stressed than her. She is almost 2 years old and never went to a salon before. I always did the bath at home with the handheld shower, which she hates.
The salon is in Chom Thong near the market, a small place with 2 ladies working. I dont want to advertise it, so I will just say the lady is very gentle. They asked me to wait outside but I stayed by the window. Cream looked at me like 'why are you leaving me here' the whole time.
After two hours she came out with a bow on her head and a clean smell. Honestly she looked like a different dog. The fur is shorter on the belly and her ears are trimmed a bit, the lady said it helps with the infections she got last winter.
Cream was not so happy in the car on the way home. She shook for 10 minutes and sat on my lap. I gave her a chicken treat and she calmed down. The aircon in my car is so cold, and she sleeped the whole afternoon on the blanket.
Some tips from me for other German expats here: ask them to do short sessions if your dog is nervous, and bring her favourite toy. The price was reasonable compared to home, about 600 baht for a medium dog. Her nails were also done so she does not scratch the sofa anymore lol.
I hope next time it will be easier. I feel like a proud mother, actually.
Kuma is four months old now, a tiny Poodle with more energy than sense. The hot season has been brutal in Sukhumvit, so I have had to rethink our walks. We go out at six in the morning now,...
