Mimi is a two and a half year old Scottish Fold who thinks every thunderclap is a personal attack. In our Thonglor condo the storms roll in around six, and she used to dive under the bed and stay there until morning.

A weighted blanket or a thick fleece throw is what helped our old cat most during thunder, so this sounds like a similar fix.
