Okay update on Nok the cat, because my family thinks I am crazy for training a cat. Two months ago she would not come even when I shake the treat bag. Now she come like 7 out of 10 times, which is a huge win for us.
We use the clicker my son bought last year, the one he never used for his cat. Every time she come to me, click and give one tiny piece of tuna. Keep sessions short, maybe 3 minute, she get bored very fast. I learn this from a youtube video from a Japanese lady, very helpful.
The hardest part was the name call. Nok is very independant, she think her name is just a sound. I say it in same voice every time, not louder, and wait. Sometimes she look at me and walk away, which is the most annoying thing ever. But I am patient.
There was one moment in the kitchen. I was cooking rice and she jumped up on the counter and I was about to get mad. But she came down when I called her and sat next to me. I actually cheered alone in my kitchen, very embarrassing.
Still not perfect. At night she ignores me totally. But I think it is good enough for me.
My husband says it is just luck. Maybe he is right, but i am sticking with the clicker.
