A friend's dog will stay with me for 3 weeks while she is abroad. He is a French Bulldog around 4 years old. I do not know what he eats now. Should I buy the same food the owner uses or any dry food from the supermarket? I live in a condo so I want to avoid bad smell in the room.

Ask your friend exactly what he eats now, and keep the same brand for at least the first week or two. If you need to change, mix the new food in slowly over about 7 days, otherwise you will get diarrhea on your carpet at 3am. Keep water always available. Frenchies can have tummy issues easily so watch his poop.
Thank you for taking care of him, I think Su's advice is very good. My cat became sick when I changed food too fast in the first month. Also please ask if he has any allergies, skin problems or medicine. Oh and bring his own bowl so he feels at home.
