juliet hates baths, grooming at home??

Juliet is 8 years old now and her fur getting matted behind the ears and tail. She dont like water at all. I try brush every day but she run away. Any tips for grooming an old cat at home? I dont want to take her to the groomer because she get very stressed in the car.

Maybe try a groomer who does home visits, some Bangkok ones do that. Ask them to come on a weekday morning, less stress for Juliet. Bring her favourite blanket.

Soft slicker brush, short sessions only, and a treat after each session. Keep it small and slow. Wet fur mats more so keep it dry too.

Brush with a metal comb first thing in the morning when she is calm. For mats, use a mat breaker or ask a groomer to shave just that part. Dry shampoo for cats works instead of water.

Cat not like water at all, I dont bath my cat anymore. Just use wet wipes for smell. For knots, cut with blunt scissor carefully, cat skin is loose so be careful not to cut her. Ask vet if she have more hair loss, could be something else.
