Looking after my neighbour's husky, he keep running away

Question

I am dog sitting for my neighbor's husky this week, he is 2 years old and very hyper. He keeps running to the gate every time I open it. How do I train him to come back? He doesnt listen to me at all. I am not experienced and Im scared he gets lost near the beach road.

Huskies are very difrent from chihuahua lol. Use long leash, dont chase him, just stay still and call. Also is there a dog park near you? That helps a lot.

Also check the gate. Use a second latch or a baby gate outside so he can't push it open. That is more important than the training honestly.

I'm honestly not a dog person but the husky thing reminds me of my cousin's dog. The trick was not calling him when he was already running away, first practice recall inside the house.

huskies they need alot exercise, if he got bored he run. Take him for walk morning before you open gate. Tired dog no run far.
