Insurance for Goku, is it worth it?

Goku is three and half years old, a mix cat, very handsome, very lazy. He had an accident last year when he fell from the balcony on the 9th floor of our condo in Bang Sue. Yes he was fine in the end, but the vet bill was very big. That is why I looked at pet insurance seriously for the first time. I compared three plans online. Some are very cheap per month but they do not cover the old age illness. Other plan have a lot of conditions in the small print, pre existing conditions, waiting period, and they will not pay for the thing you already had. I spent almost a whole evening reading in the living room with tea. I bought the mid range one in the end. It is around 400 baht per month. My daughter think I am crazy because the cat is not sick. But I think for a cat who likes to climb it is a good feeling to know there is some money if something happen again. The claims process was not very fast. I had to send photos of the receipt on LINE, then wait eight days for the transfer. The cat did not care. He just sleep on the balcony in the sun. My honest answer: it depends how much you can afford. Do not buy it only because a salesman is nice to you on the phone.
