fireworks from the balcony

Every New Year the whole soi goes off with fireworks, and I have lived in Chatuchak for 9 years now. The dogs on our road shake and bark for hours, and their owners look just as tired. What seems to help the most is letting them stay in a room away from the balcony, with the door shut and the fan on. Some owners put a towel over the cage for the small ones. Not perfect, but it's something.
