First Month With a Rescue Siamese: Practical Notes

Pudding came to me from a rescue group in Bang Kapi last month. He is a six-year-old Siamese with a loud voice and very blue eyes. Here are some practical notes for anyone about to bring home a rescue cat. Keep him in one room for the first week so he can learn the smells without getting overwhelmed. Buy a litter tray a little bigger than you think you need, and place it away from the food bowl. Ask the shelter what he eats now, and change his food slowly over a week. Expect hiding for a few days. Pudding spent his first night under the bed, and by day ten he was sleeping on my feet. Patience pays off.
