Fernpresso at Lake is a lakeside café on Chiang Mai University's Mae Hia campus. Leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard and on the lawns, but not in the air-conditioned indoor area.

Dogs are allowed outdoors only: in the leafy courtyard, on the garden decks and on the grassy areas beside the lake. They are not allowed inside the enclosed air-conditioned area. Pets must stay on a leash and be monitored at all times, and owners must clean up after them.

There is no pet fee and no strict size or weight limit. There is no dog or pet menu, and no off-leash dog park, dog pool, grooming or boarding. The café has no resident pets, although stray cats and wildlife roam the campus. Visitors may bring their own dogs.

Please follow the rules, be polite and considerate, and do not leave pets unattended unless you have agreed this in advance with the staff.

Description

Fernpresso at Lake is a garden-and-lake café beneath Doi Suthep, with hanging ferns, wooden decks, floor-to-ceiling glass and cool misting fans. The menu includes espresso and pour-over coffee, signature lattes, matcha, fruit smoothies, craft sodas, Western dishes such as eggs Benedict and creamy pasta, and Thai dishes like pad Thai and fried rice.

Baked goods include the Healthy Honey Toast and crêpe cakes. The air-conditioned room wraps around the courtyard and offers lake views, while the courtyard and garden decks are open to the outdoors with mountain backdrops. The space is relatively large and calm.

It suits people who want to work or relax in a quiet, leafy setting, and dog owners who want a scenic place to sit outside. It is a general café rather than a dog café, and it has no dog park, pool or grooming service.

Getting there

Fernpresso at Lake sits on the Chiang Mai University Mae Hia campus, next to the Faculty of Agro-Industry, beside Lake Aunjai. It is reached from Highway 121, the Outer Ring Road, south of Suthep and north of Hang Dong.

Chiang Mai has no BTS or MRT, so visitors use a private car, motorbike, Grab, Bolt or songthaew. There is a dedicated on-site parking lot next to the venue.
