Dogs and domestic cats are welcome; exotic pets are not permitted. The resort generally accepts dogs of all sizes and weights, including large breeds, but advance notice and confirmation at booking are required.

A pet fee of THB 500 per pet per night applies, plus a refundable damage deposit of THB 2,000 per stay, collected at check-in.

Pets stay in designated ground-floor cabanas or dedicated pet-friendly rooms with outdoor access, usually up to two pets per room.

Pets must be kept on a leash or in a pet stroller at all times in public areas. They may use the garden paths, grounds and beach zones, but are not allowed in the swimming pools, the fitness centre, the spa or enclosed indoor dining spaces such as the main breakfast hall.

Description

Centara Koh Chang Tropicana Resort is a 4-star, low-rise tropical beach retreat set in landscaped gardens with palm trees and lotus ponds. The architecture has Thai-inspired styling and rustic wood accents.

The resort has 157 spacious rooms and detached cabanas, from Superior and Deluxe rooms to Premium Cabanas and Suites. Each has a private balcony or terrace.

Facilities include two outdoor pools: a beachfront ocean pool with a sunset view and swim-up bar, and an inner garden pool with a waterslide, Jacuzzi and children's splash pool. The SPA Cenvaree, a fitness centre, and water sports such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are also available, along with a supervised Kids' Club.

Dining includes the Sea Breeze Restaurant, serving Thai and international cuisine, beachfront bars and an Italian pizzeria near the entrance.

Neighbourhood

The resort is directly on Klong Prao Beach, in a laid-back, walkable beach neighbourhood. The main road outside has local Thai seafood restaurants, cafés, minimarts, scooter rental shops and tour desks.

Famous landmarks nearby:

Klong Plu Waterfall (about 3–4 km north): Koh Chang's best-known freshwater cascade, with swimming basins.
Kai Bae Viewpoint (about 4 km south): panoramic sunset views across the offshore islets.
Bang Bao Pier and Fishing Village (about 12 km south): a traditional stilt village and the main hub for snorkelling and diving trips.

Getting there

The address is 26, 3 Klong Prao Beach, Tambon Ko Chang, Amphoe Ko Chang, Trat 23170. Fly with Bangkok Airways from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Trat Airport (TDX), about 1 hour. Or drive or take a bus or van from Bangkok via Route 344 and Route 3, about 4.5 to 5.5 hours, to the ferry piers in Laem Ngop, Trat.

Board the car ferry at Ao Thammachat Pier, which departs every 30–45 minutes, or at Centerpoint Pier. The crossing to Ao Sapparot Pier on Koh Chang takes roughly 30–45 minutes. Turn right onto the main coastal ring road and drive south through White Sand Beach and Chai Chet toward Klong Prao Beach, about 16–18 km or 25–30 minutes. Shared songthaews and resort transfers are available at the pier.

Free self-parking is available on site for cars, SUVs and motorbikes.
