Teaching an old cat tricks, is it even possible?

Mars is 9 now and I thought cats cant learn tricks but my friend says they can. I tried sit and high five with chicken bits for 2 weeks and she just stares at me like im stupid lol. Is it worth continuing with a older cat or should I give up and let her be

Dog training method for cat no good, cat no obey like dog. Just let her do what she like and give tritat when she do good thing. Also dont do too long, she get bored fast lol

Honestly dont stress too much about sit. Mine only learned to come when called and thats enough for me. The clicker is kinda fun though, teh cats seem to enjoy the sound more than the treats.

+1 to treat thing. Use something good like tuna or chicken, not dry food, dry food she will ignore. My cat took 1 month to learn to touch my hand, so be patient.

I think Mars is very smart cat. My cat no can sit but she come when I call with treat, so the clicker is same same like dog training but cat is much slower. Try small treat, not big piece, she will be more interested na.

Clicker works for cats too. Keep sessions to about 3 minutes, reward the second she does the thing, and stop while she still wants more. Cats are not dogs though, so don't expect sit every time. Some days she will just not care.

Cats are different, you cannot force them. Put treat near her nose and move slowly so she follows it into position. Give small pieces only. My cat learned high five in two weeks, after that she wanted to do it for food every time.
