Cheddar is lucky to have such a patient family.

We did almost the same thing with Nungning when we added a second dog, and a simple baby gate in the living room helped a lot. Swapping toys so they could sniff each other's things first was the trick for us too. The slow approach really saved us a lot of stress.

Honest reaction: the slow introduction part made me smile, Dao would have hidden under the bed. Hope Cheddar and the new puppy are getting along by now.

We bought a pet gate and some scent blankets for Honey and her new roommate, and they really helped. Definitely try separate feeding spots first.

This is such a sweet and practical guide. Kitty would definitely need a few days of smelling first too.
