Dao Gets Used to the Silom Bus Noise
Dao is a small poodle I adopted from a shelter when she was a little over one year old. On her first day, she ran into the wardrobe and wouldn't come out all night. I slept on the floor outside it, even though my back was aching so badly I could barely move. At that point I wondered if we'd ever get along.
Two months later, Dao finally came out to sniff the rice I was cooking, but she still panicked almost every time a bus rumbled past our Silom soi. She'd race back inside faster than I had ever seen her move, and sometimes I had to laugh through my tears, because she looked so funny trying to find a hiding place.
Now she's changed a lot. When she hears a bus, she just looks over and then walks back to sit beside me, because she knows I won't let anything bad happen. I believe a dog's trust doesn't come from calling her hard. It comes from being there every single day. These days Dao follows me from room to room, and I love it.

A poodle hiding in the wardrobe all night, classic move. 🙂

Same with Milky, first week he hid in the wardrobe too. We bought earplugs for the night and a white noise machine, helped a lot. Dao is lucky to have u though.
