When we brought Momo home from a shelter in Bangkok, he spent the first week under the bed, coming out only for food and the occasional nervous lap around the apartment. As a Japanese man who had never owned a dog, I was sure I had made a terrible mistake. Our Border Collie has since become my shadow, following me to the kitchen and sitting on my feet while I cook.
I think he decided I was acceptable around the time I started reading the newspaper on the floor beside him. These days he sleeps on my side of the bed, which I pretend not to enjoy.
My aunt has an old mixed dog in Lipa Noi and every New Year's Eve he hides under the bed for hours. Last year it was so bad he tried to dig a hole through the tile.

Haha 3 months to trust is quite fast honestly, my Rambo still hides after 1 year lol. Bangkok shelters are so busy, good you found him.

Patience is the best tip here, and a quiet corner to hide in really helps. Try leaving treats near where he hides so he links you with good things.
