Our condo in Chang Khlan just sent a notice from the juristic office. Pets must not go on the balcony or common corridor, and there is a fine if they see the cat outside. Kluay is 7 years old and he has been sitting on the balcony every afternoon for years. I don't want to stress him by locking him inside all day. Anyone in a Chiang Mai condo with the same issue, how did you make it safe without breaking the rules?
Get a cat net for the balcony, the mesh type. The juristic accepted it in ours because it is closed, the cat is not outside. Buy from the hardware shop near the market, cheap. Keep the window open max 10 cm.
I would read the actual rule text carefully before you buy anything. In my building the rule was only for dogs in the corridor, not balconies. Could be different in your building. Ask the juristic office to confirm in writing.
Mesh is the best answer I think. Also you can ask if they allow a window perch inside the unit so he can sit by the glass. Kluay will be happy with that.
Same in our condo. My Siamese fell from the 6th floor when the window was open, so please use the net. Better safe, he is family.
