Taro licking his paw nonstop, red between the toes?

Taro has been licking his front left paw for about 5 days. It looks a little red between the toes and he limps a bit after the walk on the beach road. He still eats and plays fine, but he sleeps much worse than usual. I have not seen any cut or insect bite. Pratumnak is so hot right now and the sand is burning, could that be the problem?
